What are Teacher Visits?

Teacher visits by Irish teachers and teachers in partner schools can be made to support school partnership projects and help them to develop. The aim of a WorldWise teacher visit is to enable successful partnership projects to be established between schools, and to lay the foundations for long term collaborative work. Teacher visits enable participating teachers to develop a greater understanding of their partner school and to collaborate with their colleagues to plan their projects. The main outcome of any teacher visit is the establishment of a Partnership Agreement (see our template for a Partnership Agreement for more details). In 2009/10, 19 Irish schools will be hosting visits from their WorldWise partner teachers, and 18 Irish teacher visits will be taking place in partner countries. For more details see our Noticeboard or check out WorldWise Case Studies.

Who can apply for funding?

Irish second-level schools and colleges may apply for funding. Individuals and NGOs may not apply for funding. Applications must include evidence of collaboration with the partner school.
