Our World Awards Schools proceed to National Final

Development Education, News/feature, Ireland, 2014
Students at the Our World Irish Aid Award regional final

Students taking part in the Our World Irish Aid Award regional finals.

Last week the Our World Irish Aid Awards team travelled the length and the breadth of the country to meet with top 60 schools from the four corners of Ireland for the regional finals.

We met with enthusiastic schools who all submitted exceptional projects about the Millennium Development Goals and the work of Irish Aid.  Taking part in the Awards helped the students and teachers to explore the links between their lives in Ireland and the lives of children and their families in developing countries.

The creativity and innovation of the students’ was highlighted in their projects , which included illustrated project books, films, art, music, drama, board games and websites all submitted to the awards.

With the diversity and extremely high standard of the projects received it was a difficult task to choose just 12 schools to go on to the National finals in Dublin Castle on June 17th, but it had to be done..

The schools that will progress to the national finals are:

Sligo

St. Patrick's N.S Roscommon
St. Michael's School Roscommon
Jones Memorial P.S. Co. Fermanagh.

Dublin

St. Patrick's N.S Glencullen
