Global Development Finance 2004 - Harnessing Cyclical Gains for Development
On Tuesday 25th of May at 3:00pm, Irish Aid, together with the Institute for International Integration Studies, is hosting a seminar on the World Bank 2004 Global Development Finance Report. The seminar will be led by Uri Dadush. Mr. Dadush is director of the World Bank development prospects group and as such is responsible for the Bank's Global Economic Prospects and Global Development Finance reports.
Global Development Finance is unique in its breadth of coverage of the issues related to international development finance. With analysis and data spanning the range of flows from sophisticated market transactions to emergency aid, Global Development Finance keeps abreast of the latest trends and developments in international development economics.
One of the key findings of the report, which was published on April 19th 2004, is that net private capital flows to developing countries as a whole rebounded to $200 billion in 2003, up from $155 billion in 2002, but most of the increase is concentrated in just a few relatively better-off countries, while official development assistance to poor nations increased only marginally.
The seminar will take place at 3:00pm on Tuesday, 25 May 2004 in Trinity College Dublin:

Copies of the report will be available to take away on the day.
