The 2019 Annual Report on Ireland’s Official Development Assistance was launched on 10 November 2020. The report sets out details of our work in 2019 and this year has a particular focus on gender equality and women’s empowerment.

On 2 July 2020, Minister Colm Brophy, T.D. began his first day as Minister of State with responsibility for Ireland’s international aid programme and for the Irish diaspora.

The Saolta programme was launched at the Mansion House in Dublin on January 30th. This programme is the latest global citizenship initiative supported by Irish Aid, the Government’s overseas development programme at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
