Call for Expressions of interest in volunteering for assignments with the European Union Police Mission in the Palestinian Territories with various deployment dates from January 2009.
The General Secretariat of the EU through CPCC-Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability has requested Member States to urgently propose candidates for the following international positions with the European Union Police Mission in the Palestinian Territories (job descriptions attached in Annex 1):
Criminal and Police Law Drafting Expert
Deputy Mission Security Officer
Project Manager
2 Field Police Advisers
Human Resources and Training Adviser
Judiciary Expert
Ministerial Administration Expert
Mission Security Officer
Specialist Police Training Adviser
Procurement Officer
REQUIREMENTS:
- EU are seeking highly qualified and experienced candidates.
- Candidates will need to have previous experience in crisis areas with multi-national and international organisations, peace keeping mission experience and a commitment to human rights and democracy.
- Candidates must fulfil essential requirements listed on p.2 of Annex 1 attached re. EU citizenship, integrity, negotiation skills, flexibility, physical and mental health, ability to communicate effectively in English and computer skills.
-Language skills: knowledge of Arabic or Hebrew would be an asset
-Knowledge of the EU Institutions and of the Middle East
Health Considerations:
- It is expected that all of the observers are very physically fit and in good health without any physical or mental problems or substance dependency which may impair operational performance in the Mission.
In our experience only candidates with the relevant experience will be accepted by the EU.
